On May 23, 2016, the Gladney Center for Adoption, in partnership with LifeCare of Brandon, honored nine birth mothers who made the courageous decision of choosing adoption for their children. With a total of 24 guests, we celebrated Birth Mother's Day by rejoicing in the beautiful lives of each of the children who have been lovingly placed with concern and care with their special families, chosen especially for them.
Each birth mother was able to write an endearing message, hope or dream they have for their child onto a balloon and release it into the sky.
There is no doubt that the extraordinary love that each of these precious birth mothers feels for their child was experienced that evening.
Facing an unplanned pregnancy can be very difficult and overwhelming, but these courageous women have found hope and healing in walking that journey together and take time each year to allow themselves to be honored on Birth Mother’s Day and their strength and unity!
